John Hartig, CEO, BrandPort Inc. Full Bio
John Hartig is a 25-year media industry veteran with extensive background in building and leading thriving businesses and operations.
John served most recently as a key member of Hearst’s senior management team under the leadership of President Cathie Black as Senior Vice President, Consumer Marketing and Development. Hartig led the $300 million+ consumer marketing operation and circulation profit center in addition to overseeing Hearst Magazines’ development activities, which included the testing and launch of new businesses and evaluation of acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Hartig also initiated new branding, pricing and multi-channel strategies that strengthened Hearst’s portfolio and grew divisional profits. Hartig jump started the formation of Hearst Magazines’ digital strategy and Digital Media Unit’s build-out. Key business achievements included the rebuilding the single copy franchises which served to achieve record profits in 2007. On the subscription front, the successful shift in direct marketing strategy from offline to online channels substantially bolstered subscription profits and enhanced website audience and traffic. Hearst sold a record 1.8 million subscriptions through online channels in 2007, a 50% increase year-over-year. Hartig also helped lead the successful content transformation from print to multi-channel, and integrate the brands’ offline and online databases. Prior to Hearst, Hartig was President and CEO of The Parenting Group (TPG), a division of Time Inc., where he was responsible for all business and content operations of Parenting, BabyTalk, Healthy Pregnancy, and Family Life magazines, Parenting.com, Parenting Television, First Moments Sampling Operation, as well as their combined 12 million consumer database. Prior to the TPG position, John played key management roles at Time Inc. in advertising sales and marketing, strategic planning, business development and consumer marketing. John began his career at the public relations agency Rogers & Cowan. He spent five years collectively at the advertising agency Needham, Harper and Steers as Account Executive and at Dailey and Associates as Account Supervisor, both in Los Angeles. John is an avid private pilot and resides in Riverside, Connecticut with his wife and four children.
He is a graduate of California State University, and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Jack Davis, General Counsel Full Bio
Jack is a corporate lawyer with over a decade of experience representing companies and funds in transactions ranging from $50,000 seed loans to a $1b takeover of a public company. He has spent various parts of his career in private practice, working on the management teams in various capacities (CAO, GC, CFO, and Corp. Dev.) of several venture/private equity backed companies, and working directly on the principal investing side as well. He started his career at Skadden Arps in Chicago working primarily on large private equity/mbo transactions. He left Skadden in 1998 to help a client purchase and then run a technology consulting business in NY, where he served as General Counsel and CAO. After the sale of that business, he served as General Counsel to an early stage venture fund in NY.
Jack left New York in 2002 and returned to Durham, North Carolina where he had previously received both his BA and JD/LLM from Duke University.

Over the course of his technology career, Prasad has designed, developed and implemented complex, secure systems for various large corporations in the sales management, real estate management, human resources, commercial banking, and global financial services industries. Prasad has a BS in Computer Engineering and an MBA in Marketing from Pune University.

Over the years, Paul has conceived, developed and delivered close to twenty products and sold tens of thousands of licenses. Paul holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Aerospace Engineering as well as Electrical Engineering, both from Virginia Tech.

Irving began his career at 3M where he worked in product development and earned his six-sigma Greenbelt. After 3M, Irving worked in the Implementing Revolutionary Technological Change program with General Motors. Irving has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Florida A&M University where he graduated from the Honors Program Summa cum laude, and an MBA in General Management from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
Buz Keenan, Business Development Full Bio
Buz Keenan began his career 25 years ago as a salesman for Schaefer Beer. He was promoted into brand management at Schaefer and eventually moved on to a major advertising agency in New York City, which is now part of IPG. He spent several years on the account-side of the business working on consumer brands including Lysol Products, Lego Toys and Lipton Tea. After his stint on the agency side, Buz moved into ad sales at Sport Magazine and then to the New York Times Magazine Group where he spent most of the 90's running the sales group at Tennis Magazine. Buz lives in Hoboken NJ. He, Sue and five year old Patrick "Packy" Keenan live in a 125 year old brownstone five blocks from Frank Sinatra's boyhood home.

Kivin began his marketing career at the University of Connecticut, where he founded an importing company and ran the largest student organization on campus. He moved on to marketing consulting at the BASES Group and MMA/Carat, working on projects for large national marketers including Kraft, Ocean Spray, Gillette, Johnson & Johnson, Tropicana, Nabisco, and Pfizer. From there, Kivin moved to Gillette, Inc. where he held a variety of marketing positions in the Trade Marketing, North America Brand Management, and Global Business Management groups. From Gillette, Kivin moved to TradeOut, a startup funded by eBay, Benchmark Capital, and GE Capital. Kivin has a BS in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and an MBA in Finance, Management and Entrepreneurial Studies from the NYU Stern School of Business where he was a Stern Scholar and recipient of the Harold Price Entrepreneurship Award.

Jeff is an attorney, investment banker and private investor/entrepreneur who has launched, financed and built over 30 technology companies over the past twenty years. Jeff is a registered General Securities Principal with Bridge Capital Advisors, Inc., a NASD registered broker/dealer where he holds Series 24, 7 and 63 licenses. Jeff began his career working with big and small companies launching new ventures ranging from video-text, screen phones, Cable TV, interactive kiosks, speech recognition, CD-ROM publishing and Interactive TV. In July 1997, Jeff founded Interactive Capital Partners to focus primarily on companies that could leverage the coming dramatic shift to the Internet in communications and commerce for consumers and businesses. Prior to founding Interactive Capital Partners, Jeff was a General Partner at Southport Partners, a leading high-tech investment banking boutique. As part of this activity, in the early 1990s, Jeff was the lead partner in assisting IBM with analyzing and executing venture capital investments in new consumer interactive services. Prior to joining Southport Partners in 1987, Jeff was VP Business Development for Portel Services Network where he was responsible for developing strategic distribution and content relationships for a patented, low-cost interactive home banking, shopping and consumer information service developed by Hubert Schlafly, the acknowledged technical founder of the cable TV industry as founder of TelePrompTer. Joe served most recently as GM of US Advertising Sales for the MSN Network, where he was responsible for $525 million dollars in revenue and supervised a staff of 100 employees. Joe directed all sales, partnerships, content sponsorships, and co-marketing efforts for MSN. Joe joined MSN in 2002 as Managing Director of Emerging Verticals where he increased revenues from $2MM to over $40MM in two years. Earlier, Joe served as VP of the Microsoft TV and WebTV initiatives where he developed interactive programming partnerships with companies including CBS, NBC, and Sony Columbia Tri-Star. Prior to joining Microsoft, Joe was VP of National Advertising Sales for HBO-Comedy Central where he played a central role in the network launch and in growing revenues. Joe is a Connecticut native and now living in the San Francisco Bay Area and works with promising startups in the media and technology space.

Hank Uberoi is currently an investor in private and public companies globally with particular interest in the US, UK and India. He is a director of Coexis Limited - a software company based in the UK; 3E Limited, UK; Marco Polo Network, Inc., NY and serves on the board of Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, NJ. Until April 2004 he was the Chief Operating Officer and head of a large Equities Investment Business at Citadel Investment Group, one of the largest hedge funds where he was on the Management Committee of the firm. Specifically, he led Citadel's fundamental Equities long/short business as well as the non-investment functions in the organization — Accounting, Corporate Strategy, General Services, Human Resources, Investor Relations, Legal, Operations and Portfolio Finance. Hank joined Citadel in 2002 from Goldman Sachs, where he spent 14 years, most recently as a partner and co-COO of the Technology Division managing a group of nearly 4,000 people. While at Goldman, he served on several governance boards, including the firm's Compensation Committee and the Technology Operating Committee. Hank spent five years in London in the early '90s during Goldman’s rapid international expansion and was a key player in the development of many of the firm’s global initiatives. During his time at Be, he also served as VP of both Business Development and Marketing Communications. He was a co-founder of Red Storm Entertainment, an entertainment software firm created by author Tom Clancy, where he served as VP of Product Development and was a co-designer of the first realistic tactical combat game, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. He served as VP and General Manager of Virtus Studios, where he was the original designer of the first 3D submarine combat simulation, Tom Clancy SSN, and earlier, as Senior Product Marketing Manager at Adobe Systems, where he was a founding team member of the Adobe Acrobat project.
Prior to its acquisition by Yahoo, Boosman was a director of Ludicorp R&D Ltd., developers of the popular photo-sharing service Flickr. He currently serves as a director of A-B-Sea, which is extending GPS to underwater operations.
